UTAH SCHOOL OF PHLEBOTOMY CLASS
The Utah School of Phlebotomy is committed to teaching and demonstrating the highest quality of basic and essential fundamentals for starting a career in phlebotomy. This is why our course was designed to be over a six-week period. We feel that six weeks is the appropriate time needed to adequately develop the skills you need to perform excellent phlebotomy. Other phlebotomy courses that are only taught over a short period of time or online do not allow students to develop and mature naturally.
6 WEEK COURSE
This six-week comprehensive course will allow you to learn all of the techniques for the field of phlebotomy. Our instructors will guide you as you learn a variety of types of venipuncture, safety standards, basic anatomy and physiology, and other factors involved in this profession.

Each student will draw blood several times each time they come to class. We feel that a “hands-on” course is the best way to learn. These draws will be performed on other class members. We discourage the use of a plastic dummy arm because it is not an adequate and exact feeling of an actual venipuncture. Employers look for this when hiring. The more sticks you perform, the more marketable you make yourself. We will prepare you to impress any prospective employer and ensure that you will be a successful phlebotomist.
PHLEBOTOMY CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
Upon completion of the six-week training course, each student must fulfill an externship to obtain their Certificate of Completion. This certification is acceptable throughout the United States. We have under contract several facilities throughout Utah to accommodate this externship requirement. The hours are completed depending on your schedule. The purpose of the externship is to allow students to be exposed to a real phlebotomy environment, while using their skills they learned in class. This is a vital part when applying for jobs. Prospective employers like to see that you are familiar with a phlebotomy work environment.
The cost of the six-week course is $450. This price includes the manual and all necessary lab supplies for the duration of the course. The tuition can be made over the six week period and must be paid in full upon completion of the course. If you feel that you need more practice after you have completed the course, you are more than welcome to come back at any time, to any class, free of charge.
This exciting and stimulating course will help students to become qualified in blood drawing and help them appreciate this special field. We hope that you will consider the Utah School of Phlebotomy to help you start your career in the medical field!
